To celebrate national nurses week day, we have to promote our profession and our patients. A national nurse would help us to promote the welfare model and away from the sick of the health care model. This would lead to a healthier population and one focused on prevention and wellness. In turn this would help reduce the costs of health care.

One of the ways we can all help to make a national nurse to become a reality is to get in touch with our legislators and ask them to initiate session support and then help to pass HR1119 through the House of representatives. We also need to get our senators concerned in this matter and a draft Bill to the Senate.

Remember, is not the national law of enfermera-partidista.  Everyone is encouraged to help support this cause to promote the profession of nursing and public health for all.

In addition to get in touch with legislators, I found that the DNC has asked for public input for issues to focus on 2012. Please consider your simple form online and asking them which include the national nurse public health HR1119 the national nurse Act for 2011 in your calendar.

They have searched high and low for a similar site the CNR and didn’t find any. If anyone has information on this site where we can provide entry of approach of the Republican party, please comment below with the link.

When approaching once more the “graduation season”, another class of nurses seeking employment and many will be disappointed that it seems there are no jobs available that did not expect it when they became students of nursing.

For years we have experienced and heard about this terrible shortages of nurses and if you want to get out of school and write your own ticket, go to nursing school. And, then thesis students began graduating and found that six years of experience they need to get a job!

What happened to the shortage of nurses? Why can’t find nurse jobs? In a simple explanation, the recession stalled the shortage of nurses. But as the economy recovers, the shortage of nurses is expected to be worse than ever.

According to Peter Buerhaus, PhD, RN a leading researcher on trends in nursing at Vanderbilt University, there are currently more than 900,000 nurses in the United States that are older than 50 years of work. In 2008, the total number of RNs had increased to 3.1 million.

When the economy tanked as of 2008, many semi-retired and retired nurses were forced to return to the labour force and he was essentially available jobs. The economy embedded, not emerging and non-essential health care all disappeared but causing employers to freeze recruitment. Those who were hired only wanted nurses experienced.

According to the Bureau of labour statistics new 37,000 jobs was available in health care in March 2011 on its own. In fact so far this year, 283,000 new jobs created and many of those jobs have and Iran RNs with or without experience.

As the economy recovers, we could well see a mass exodus of older nurses to come out of his retirement or happens to withdraw for the time being. And as these age of nurses, join the masses of a growing and ageing population which will demand more and better health care in. Combine all the nurse graduates who have not been able to find employment, will be having a considerable and growing shortage of nurses.

Buerhaus encourages new nurse graduates to be patient and in the course of the next few months or years they hope to find many opportunities. Those who take their time to continue their studies and obtain advanced degrees while waiting can even find much better prepared to find even better career options.

For the time being, new graduates should be open to relocate. Many less populated and less popular sites have job openings in large metropolitan areas that can certainly attract more candidates will be more demanding and looking for nurses experienced fewer employment opportunities.

To predict the need for more nurses, economic recession and the effects of the recession were not part of the process of thought. And as the economy normalizes, the shortage of nurses will definitely return and with a bang.

How much do you know about the evaluation of pain? Pain is the fifth vital sign, and should be evaluated at least once every change in facilities and each visit NRF patient home care and hospice care.

It is not always easy to assess pain in patients with cognitive impairment. Portraits of pain offers several tips to assess the level of pain in their patients and teach caregivers and loved ones to do the same.

I hear often annoying with hospice care, or those who do not understand Hospice, their Jean has or has not had any pain and still did not receive the drug for pain. My answer is to ask the nurse: why not do that it taught me about my loved his pain assessment? and that is what has been said that it is pain?

Pain affects the quality of life and the capacity to deal with other conditions. It should be taken seriously and understood by the profession of nursing.  Take the time to understand the pain and the pain assessment.

    WARNING OF DRUG:
About pain, please note that brand (generic propoxypene) medications are taken Darvon and Darvocette in the US market. Inform their patients and updating your drug information.

    Here is a guest post

Chris Urbano has been nurse for more than 30 years with extensive experience as a nurse from the school, the legal consultant of the nurse educator of ICU nurse nurse and now as the Director of assistance in a residential centre in the long term.  He has a Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) degree and a master of Arts (MA) in community psychology. The urban Ms. consultation BrainTrack section of schools of nursing care.

During my years of experience I was exposed to many successful and happy nurses nursing, I met many of my colleagues who regretted studying this career and many others who say “blocked”. Therefore, to avoid any disappointment, I suggest that you consider the following when creating your career plan:

Check their reasons to become an RN. Some call it the profession a vocation and I believe it is truth to this. You must have a desire to help others and be emotionally handle all that meet. There amazing days of hope and positive results that balance the sad days. I have read numerous surveys of patient satisfaction and for the majority of positive experiences, it was always a nurse who has made a difference. Obtaining experience before it carried out. Recommend that spend time in a health centre to see how to adjust it. You should feel comfortable with all the sights, smells and sounds that finding. Some people may simply not work in this environment, and you can well understand this before the commencement of the educational work.Select the path to a license. You can choose a degree of AAS (associate in applied sciences) in two years or a BSN (Bachelor’s degree in nursing) degree over four years. In addition, there are several programs bridge the transition from the RN BSN or MSN (master’s degree in nursing), many of which are available online. His decision will depend on the availability of programs, personal choice, commitment of time and finances.Carefully choose your specialty. All programs will be exposing you to medical, surgical, psychiatric, mother-infant and pediatric nursing as this is the basis for license plates. They experience these rotations, choose an area that matches your personality. This can take time, but it’s the end. For example, I could not work in Pediatrics because very helpful for my patients and their families was too emotional. Continue learning. Most hospitals offer tuition reimbursement, and you should take advantage of this benefit. You can take courses over time and to complete each level, will be described as advanced practice. This will open the doors to progress, such as the education and administration positions.
MOVE and direct attention if you like to work (weekends, evenings and nights) and, then, are probably satisfied degree of partner and there is always a need for this level of care.

But if you want to expand your options, you need to get a graduate degree. The majority of hospital administrators have their BSN or MSN. Teaching nursing, need a minimum of a master’s degree, but need a doctorate to teach at the primary level. Nurse researchers normally hold a Masters or doctorate degree.

I started with degree and an associate in the years in my education, offering many opportunities that have been a rewarding career. I never regretted my choice to pursue nursing care and wish you the best that continues throughout his career. I hope that you will feel so happy like me, even after all these years.

Thanks to Chris for a great article!
