    Bachelor’s Degree Requirements May Change

    Many nurses may be working to a degree, and offers online nursing schools could very well be the means to achieve them. Requirements appear to be changing.

    Some 18 states are considering laws requiring nurses to enroll in baccalaureate nursing curriculum in the 10 years of obtaining an associate degree, according to an article published in February in higher education. The recently published by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching report argues that all nurses who work must have a bachelor’s degree.

    The nursing shortage has been recorded in years. Now, the growing number of students of all ages showed their interest in the field. The percentage of freshmen planning to get a nursing degree rose 1.7 percent in 1988 to 4.5 percent in 2008, according to a report of the Research Institute for Higher Education, quoted in the area Dallas Morning News. mid-career professionals seeking employment stability and opportunities to reduce the deficit were also interested in nursing, the Dallas Morning News said. And the American Association of Colleges of Nursing in December released preliminary data showing that enrollment in nursing degree entry level in the high school level increased for the ninth consecutive year that enrollment in graduate programs in nursing have been increased.
